Richard Smith has achieved success at both the national and international level. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1950, Smith began shooting at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the sport.

Smith's career as a competitive shooter began in the 1980s, and he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the top shooters in the country. He won his first national championship in 1986, and went on to win a total of eight national championships over the course of his career.

In addition to his success on the national level, Smith also competed in numerous international competitions. He represented the United States at the Olympic Games in 1988, 1992, and 1996, and won a bronze medal in the Men's Double Trap event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Smith's success as a shooter can be attributed to his dedication to the sport and his natural talent. He is known for his ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain focus throughout a competition. He also works tirelessly to maintain his physical fitness and hone his shooting skills through regular practice and training.

Outside of his career as a shooter, Smith is also a respected firearms instructor and coach. He has worked with shooters of all skill levels, from beginners to world champions, and has helped to train a new generation of American sport shooters.
