World Championships of Propilkki II - 2014 -

Hi all!

I am glad to inform you, because there will be again World Championships of Propilkki II at 2014!

Here some information (mostly copy and paste from 2013 thread):

World Championship tournament of Propilkki II will be played during March 2014.

We will continue with the same "good old rules". Please select 4 players + 2 substitues to the tournament and choose your captain! Captains are required to communicate between me and the rest of the team. E-mail information from captain is required, you can also use propilkki (at) gmail.com, but also sign in into this thread.

Deadline of registeration is at 15th of February 2014.


Copy-paste -of the old rules (with minor changes). If there is need for subsequent changes, I will inform you about it.

RULES of WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF PROPILKKI

1)  Teams are named in this thread. Players of the teams are those, who are given to me separately (also in this thread). Captains are ”contact persons” or some named non-member of team (translation problems etc). Each team have 4 players and 2 substitutes. If lower amount of players are available, when game starts, team must play by using only earlier named list of players.

2) Captains/contact persons are informed about time-schedule and IP-address and password of the games. They have to share this information with their team. USE PRIVATE MESSAGES OR E-MAIL! NOT FORUMS PUBLIC THREADS!

3) Delays or changes in time-schedule are informed to captains as soon as possible. If there are some problems with technical things, connection, important family-things of the host, there might be some changes. Spare-host is Janne Procyon, or some other member of Team Procyon, but in all other cases it is me (Mikko). If e.g. Janne can’t host game, match will be scheduled to other day. AT 2013, IT IS HIGHLY POSSIBLE THAT OTHER HOSTS THAN MIKKO-PROCYON- EXISTS. HOWEVER, MIKKO OR JANNE WILL TRY TO JOIN THE MATCHES AS AN OFFICIAL REFEREE, IF NEEDED.

4) Host is open 30min before start (20.30 time of Finland http://www.aika.fi/ )
And the game will start 21.00. If player is late, he can join to the rest of the matches, but there is no restarts for being late. Matches will be played Mon-Thu or Sun. There is no matches at Friday or Saturday night.

5) There will be 4 lakes in one tournament. Length of the match is always 30min. Lakes are not named before start, but large maps are preferred. There are short, about 5min break between games. Results are counted immediately after game is over. There is 30min protesting time after the results are shown. If there is something wrong, captains do the official protest and send it to me or Janne (if hosting). Procyon Products make decisions for approvals and discarding of the protests. There is no possibility to complain about decisions.

6) If connection to the game is disconnected during match, player is out of the match. If some problems occur during start for more than 3 players, there will be 1 restart. If the same player is constantly having problems with start, no restarts are performed. If the host is crashed, then there will be restart of the lake. Players must rejoin as soon as possible. If there are some other major problems, it is informed to captains as soon as possible. There will be also additional information about continuing of the game. If the kalassa.net forum is temporarily “down”, then game information is shared by e-mail to the captains of the teams.

7) Most of the games are “normal” or “all the species” type of matches, but there will be also 1 special type of match in every league. If game type is ”largest fish”, no extra point for the largest fish is given. NEW: Burbot matches will be included into the tournament!

8 ) Points:

1 = 10 points
2 = 8
3 = 6
4 = 5
5 = 4
6 = 3
7 = 2
8 = 1

Largest fish = 1 point

Host is counting points and therefore also collecting playlog-file.  Host is not playing, he is only official referee. In cases of disturbing of other players game (e.g. drilling many holes too near), player must call referee to decide what is going on. Referee can discard the player, if some severe disturbing occurs. Too much spamming in chat is also counted as disturbing, but normal chatting is allowed and even recommended.

9) Games are planned to be played during MARCH 2013. Time-schedules are informed about 1 week before match. We will prefer playing during Mon- Thu. Weekends are too busy for the most of us (we are fishermen!), except Sunday.

10)  If there are 2 teams with same amount of points, positions in matches makes the difference. If  EVEN THIS did not make a difference, largest fish of the team is taken into account. If EVEN THIS did not make a difference (nearly impossible situation), I will toss a coin to find out the winner.

11) Final is played with the same system than starting leagues.

12) Chatting during games is allowed, but private messaging is preferred. In public chat, the language is ONLY English. No other languages are allowed or player will get muted.

13) Latest release of the game (1.06) is used in the tournament.

14) The games are played with all lures available.

15) Usage of records will depend on status of the server. If there is serious lag while updating records, we are not going to use it.

16) New game types, such as "3 biggest fishes" and "5 biggest fishes" are used in the tournament

We have no trophies sponsored for this tournament. Just a title "World Championship"

I hope to have a german team at one point able to participate. There are some very good players.

Some of them also watch this forum so they might know, but I will ask and see if it is possible, it would be really nice.

Currently we have our ongoing 2013-2014 (finishes in March) Marathon tournament : http://propilkki.de/ but it is based on individual
results not network game. It is great fun though.

The guy who organizes this and made the results page is Chaos_Ulli, also a member here.

Wonderful! There are now 13 teams and 2 new teams (Mongolia and USA).

It looks like we have to play 3 different leagues at round 1. (4+4+5 teams).

I have to think about the round 2... Should there be 2+2+3 teams +wildcard to round 2 and then finals with 4 teams... or just pic 1+1+2 teams to finals (round 2). Hard decision. First time ever there are so many teams playing at World Championships tournament! Excellent!

I have been thinking about qualification rounds a lot and here is me decicion:

There will 3 leagues at round 1:

Total of 13 teams. Number of players in the matches is then 4 x 4 + host = 17 players or 4 x 5 + host = 21 players.

2 best teams of each league goes to the finals. So there will be only 2 rounds. In the finals, there will be 6 teams playing, number of players is 4 x 6 + host = 25 players. My internet connection has been tested with that player number and it works normally easily with that amount of data traffic.


I will do draw to the leagues in the nearest future. The results are available online in the kalassa.net chat, propilkki.no shoutbox and all-fishing.ru shoutbox Results are also told here in this topic. I will also make a mailing list that is used to contact captains, share passwords and IP-addresse and times of matches. Captains should share this information to other team members.

I need to check my calender for the best options for the matches. I am currently VERY busy (personal reasons), so please be patient and try to follow the times that I suggest.

Just wonder.....is there allowed to change players (registered) during play/between lakes etc? Your rules say nothing about this?
